Voter Guide: Props in a Minute
Every election year, CalMatters, a nonprofit news organization that covers California, produces Prop. in a Minute videos that help voters understand propositions and key races that will be on the ballot.
In 2024, I was able to help produce the videos, alongside my talented colleagues in the Visuals Team.
My designs and animation were used as the blueprint for all the videos we made that year.
San Diego 101
In 2020, I helped create San Diego 101 — a video explainer series by Voice of San Diego made to educate residents on some of the region's most important issues.
Our team worked closely with reporters to transform ideas into compelling visual explainers.
I produced, design and animated each video.
A year later, we expanded the project and produced a podcast for it.
San Diego 101 is one of the proudest achievements of my career. I no longer work at VOSD, but the project continues to grow, which makes me happy.
'The victims are seen just like a perpetrator'
A California domestic violence victim shares her experience with a state law that allowed a child welfare agency to take her kids from her because of the abuse she suffered. She wants to see changes to the "failure to protect" law.
I filmed and edited this interview.
The Champion-Cain Ponzi Scheme, Explained
During my time at The San Diego Union-Tribune, I worked closely with the reporters Lori Weisberg and Greg Moran to explain how Gina Champion-Cain — a former business powerhouse — orchestrated the biggest ponzi scheme in San Diego history.
I produced, designed and animated the explainer video.
Four Types of Homeless Housing, Explained
Confusion about the various types of housing for homeless and low-income residents is common. I partnered with Voice of San Diego Reporter Lisa Halverstadt to cut through the jargon.
